For those of you who have not heard, Chris Bruce passed away early this morning from a massive heart attack which he suffered while on his way back from Sarnia early this morning.
 
The entire football world in and around the Durham region has lost one of it's finest individuals. Chris had served this community for over 20 years as a coach ( Oshawa, Pickering, Clarington), Mentor to hundreds of young men and women, Club President (Oshawa), and League President for Comfl for the past several years. Those who played for Chris became better players and more importantly better people for having known him. Those of us who coached against him respected his knowledge and competitive nature. He made us better coaches in the process. They say all coaches steel or 'borrow' from each other. Chris provided lots for those who knew and competed against him. 
 
My personal relatationship with Chris started with my own son playing for Chris when he was looking for a QB for his summer Peewee team. We had always been rivals prior to that but quickly became close friends. We served as Comfl President and Vice President together for the past two years. Our friendship grew closer as we shared the same vision for growing football at the club and provincial level.
 
Chris's life was football. He had dedicated himself to it for more than two decades. He was only 40 years old. Far too young to have been taken from us. There must have been an opening for a Head Coach in Heaven, one who was a great offensive co-ordinator. A finer choice the angels couldn't make.
 
We'll all miss him greatly, and I for one will never forget him. A great coach, mentor, and more importantly a great friend and person. We are all better people for having known him.

2011 Season Registration

Next Registration Date:     Feb 26th

Registration for all 2011 programs ( House league, COMFL rep, and Summer OFC Knights) will be held on Feb  26th at the Courtice Community Complex located on Courtice Road north, just north of Hwy 2 in Courtice.  Time: 1 pm - 4 pm.

Rates:      

House League fees:                             

$ 200 + $ 50 fundraising cards   =  $250    ( You sell the cards and keep the money)     

 Comfl Rep and Summer Rep fees: 

$ 450 + $ 50 fundraising cards  =  $500     (You sell the cards and keep the money)

If your new to the game and just looking to have fun or a seasoned vet, we have a level for you.

The Clarington Tigercats Football Club Annual General Meeting :

 

The Club AGM will be held on Janurary 30th 1 to 3pm at the Courtice Community Complex located on Courtice road north, north of Hwy 2 in Courtice.
